Role of teachers in student life

It is impossible to deny a teacher's impact on student's lives. Young individuals, who perform essential tasks throughout many sectors and contribute to society in one way or another, are the country's future. Teachers are the architects of a prosperous society, moulding today's generation and supporting them as they succeed in life. The foundation of the best schools in India is led by its teachers, and their presence is irreplaceable.

On the occasion of Teacher's Day, Manav Rachna International School, Ludhiana, which is among the top 5 schools in Ludhiana, organized an event to appreciate and praise every teacher's significant contribution to society. The event started with the warm welcome of all the teachers, followed by the lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Students from different classes presented dance and song performances. The most happening part of this event was an appreciation speech given by two class XII students on how teachers are the light bearers for their future.

Prominent speakers were part of this event who talked about the various roles a teacher plays in shaping a student's future. They talked about how teachers significantly impact every student's life. A teacher helps them learn new things, instill morals and good values, and guides them in solving problems that arise in the current world. A teacher's influence on a student's life extends beyond academics and extracurriculars; they are also tasked with moulding the next generation of leaders, and improving society.

Various roles of teachers discussed during the event are discussed below:

1.      A Motivator: Bringing out the most in their learners is an instructor's most important responsibility in a student's life. No matter how quickly or slowly a child pick things up or how proficient they are in a specific subject, educators must have faith in their responsibilities and strive to reach their greatest potential. Students will believe in themselves and strive to develop their abilities, if their teachers sincerely believe in them. Outstanding educators constantly work to motivate their children to have an optimistic perspective, advance in their careers and flourish.

A Leader: A teacher is a great leader. A teacher's influence on a child goes beyond the classroom. In addition to teaching academic content, educators have a moral obligation to instill in their children valuable life abilities that will benefit them in their professional and private lives. To make children ready for the future, valuable learnings must be instilled in them through the teaching of creativity, innovation, and resourcefulness. They must mentor learners to become better citizens and to take positive action to improve society as leaders.

A Role Model: When educators serve as positive role models and develop moral principles and characteristics like sincerity, devotion, and justice in their learners, the students become better versions of themselves. Instead of just lecturing, good teachers should work hard to set the highest standards for themselves. Even teachers can make errors from time to time, but they must acknowledge them so that the students can learn that making mistakes is normal and can be fixed. They must speak out their opinions, weigh the advantages and disadvantages of a situation in front of the learners, and strive for objectivity while forming an opinion. The learners will rapidly comprehend the steps involved in critical analysis and can then put them into practice in the future.

A Friend: Students can confide in teachers and make errors without concern if they view their educators as friends. Studying will no more be a duty but merely an information exchange. The two will have a stronger bond based on transparency and respect, which will favor the learner's academic achievements.

The event ended on a wonderful note emphasizing the importance of teachers and how they substantially impact all facets of students' lives. They are in charge of shaping the subsequent generation of society and promoting the expansion of humankind. To lay a solid basis for a better future, every child needs an excellent instructor to mentor them.
